Connected Services

Smoother, faster, more reliable: Administrative processes in the future will be more efficient – from picking up keys to claiming travel expenses, to managing building works. The university sees the key to modernization in a process of change in which employees from all areas of the administration work together with the users: These more efficient processes are collected under the heading of Connected Services. The project kicks off on 14 October 2019 from 9am to 2pm. All members of the University of Freiburg are invited. The day will include workshops in which participants can get to grips with concrete processes of change. Please register by 7 October. The event counts as work time.

Open work and information forum “Connect!”

Share and contribute ideas: On February 20, 2019, all members of the University of Freiburg were invited to take part in the “Connect!” open work and information forum on the university strategy “Connecting Creative Minds.” What does this motto mean, and what are the ideas behind Freiburg’s application for the title of “University of Excellence?” A keynote lecture by Rector Prof. Dr. Hans-Jochen Schiewer outlined the overall vision and created space for a joint discussion. Round tables on the three projects in the Excellence Proposal, “Boosting Research,” “Going Global” and “Creative Organization,” then provided an opportunity to learn more about them and talk to researchers and Rectorate members.

Visits to the faculties

During the 2018 summer term, Rector Prof. Dr. Hans-Jochen Schiewer visited every single faculty at the University of Freiburg. The aim was to openly discuss the continued development of the University’s overall strategic orientation with all interested parties. Many of the ideas generated in the faculties were subsequently incorporated into the final formulation of the proposal in the competition for the Excellence Strategy. Moreover, the exchange that was initiated in this context has since been continued in a project in the dialogue workshop.
